Navigating Care Masterclass

Caring for a parent shouldn’t mean fighting a system you don’t understand.

A 6-week pilot course in protecting your parent’s rights and your peace of mind

The Navigating Care Masterclass is a specialist 6-week pilot designed to help families and adult children confidently navigate the UK care system. Whether you are facing an imminent care decision or trying to stabilise an existing arrangement, this course gives you legal clarity, practical tools, and a clear ethical framework so you can advocate effectively for your parent and your family.

Starts: Monday 16 February 2026
Runs weekly until 23 March, 7–9pm (UK time)
Limited to 15 participants

We created the Navigating Care pilot because too many families are expected to make life-altering decisions without:

  • clear explanations of rights and responsibilities
  • shared language with professionals
  • structured ways to document decisions and advocate effectively

This course exists to close that gap and to empower families with knowledge, confidence, and calm decision-making.

Who this course is for

This pilot is specifically designed for:

  • Adult children who are supporting parents with care needs and the care system
  • Families in crisis dealing with hospital discharge, urgent care home placement, or breakdowns in support
  • Proactive carers who want to fully understand their parent’s legal rights, funding options, and decision-making structures

You do not need a legal background. You do need clarity, confidence and a way forward.

From uncertainty to confidence

By the end of the 6 weeks, you will:

  • Speak the same language as care professionals, social workers, and clinicians
  • Know exactly where you stand on funding, eligibility, and rights
  • Use professional-grade tools to ensure your parent’s and family’s voices are heard
  • Move from reacting to crises to managing care with confidence and structure

This course is about reducing stress, avoiding costly mistakes, and restoring your sense of control.

This is an exclusive beta pilot, intentionally limited to a small group so we can:

  • Test and refine the course content in real-world situations
  • Gather participant feedback to shape the full programme
  • Provide a higher-touch, more responsive learning environment

As a pilot participant, you are helping shape a course that will support many families in the future.

Kacie Bryan

Director & Co-Founder, The Informed Practice

Kacie Bryan is a highly respected practitioner in the field of mental capacity, best interests decision making and complex care. A registered Social Worker with over 15 years of experience, she has led statutory adult services teams and advised on legal compliance and safeguarding.

For families, the UK care system can feel like a maze of jargon and red tape. Kacie’s role at The Informed Practice is to bring statutory level standards and compassion into the private sector, helping families ensure their loved ones are protected and empowered. She has spent years on the other side of the table leading the teams that make life altering decisions, and she now uses that expertise to support adult children and proactive carers.

I designed this course because I have seen first hand how overwhelming it feels for families to advocate for a parent while navigating a complex system. I wanted to create a space where you don’t just get information, but the actual tools, scripts, and support needed to confidentially approach the care system. This program is built to take the weight off your shoulders, giving you a clear roadmap so you can stop worrying about the system and focus on being there for your family.
